Goals and Expectations

The ability to work in team environments is a critical life skill and also essential to success in the sport of rowing. We will work to establish, maintain and promote the mentality that our ability to function well as a team will be the key to our competitiveness, our growth and development, and our ability to enjoy this sport.  Every rower will be expected to actively participate and contribute. We will use positive inter-squad competition and strong work ethic to develop and grow our team.  Rowers will always be encouraged to discuss individual goals, objectives and even concerns with the coaching staff.  Encouragement and honesty will always be shown to all athletes regarding their individual progress.  Every athlete will be expected to fully respect his or her teammates, coaches, and equipment. Additionally, we will strive to be a team that is taken seriously by the rowing community. We will approach our racing with a sense of determination and purpose and we will be respectful and courteous of all competitors and officials at regattas.  Most importantly, we will work to create an environment that is conducive to learning, trust, teamwork, fun and friendship.
