Our Crew Team is "going green"!
We are asking crew families if they would like to contribute to this worthwhile effort by helping the team to avoid using disposable plates, bowls, cups, knives, forks and spoons at our "regatta feasts" . Would you consider donating $16.50 for a four place setting, including plates, bowls, cups and flatware, made from recycled material that are recyclable? Marney Vyff found these products and arranged for us to get them wholesale. By purchasing them we can prevent a lot of plastic from being deposited into landfills. An ancillary benefit to us is that the garbage we have to deal with after each regatta should be cut by more than half. In case you are wondering, the plates come in our team's blue color. The plan is to find orange table coverings to complete the picture.
For a cost of merely $16.50, the team will be able to purchase a complete place setting for four. We have more than 40 crew team members and their parents to feed at regattas. Buy one set of 4 place settings for $16.50, or buy two, or donate $10.00 to the cause. All donations are welcome!
If you are interested in participating in this effort, please let us know as soon as possible. We would like to place the order in time to receive the plates before our first regatta on April 10. Checks should be made out to the MLCC for $16.50 and mailed to Mindy Emer, 428 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005. Make sure to indicate that the money is for the tableware.
